Baseball (T-Ball or Coach Pitch)

Baseball presents numerous benefits for teamwork and learning responsibility. T-Ball is the perfect opportunity to learn introductory skills and develop a sense of responsibility and sportsmanship from an early age. Building their skills efficiently and effectively to help them advance and grow. Baseball can improve skills like balance and endurance while having fun doing so in a safe and fun environment.

Rookie T-Ball

YMCA’s Rookie T-ball offers beginners a weekly sports experience. This balanced developmental league blends 25-30 minutes of skill learning with a subsequent 30-minute game, all in one day. Perfect for foundational skill-building.

Ages 3 years old – Kinder (ages 3 – 5)

Rookie Plus T-Ball

YMCA Rookie Plus program focuses on skill development, fun, and a sense of team in a semi-competitive environment, with volunteer coaches. Scores and standings will be kept. Our rules have been adjusted to ensure better parity and limit the ability of a team to “run up the score”. All Rookie Plus divisions will practice 1 hour per week and a game on Saturday. This league will have 6 games.

1st & 2nd Grade (ages 6-7)

Plus Coach Pitch

Plus Coach Pitch league focuses on skill development, fun and a sense of team in a semi-competitive environment, with volunteer coaches. Scores and standings will be kept. Our rules have been adjusted to ensure better parity and limit the ability of a team to “run up the score”. All Plus divisions will practice 1 hour per week and a game on Saturday. This league will have 6 games and a guaranteed 1 game tournament. Tournaments and make up games could be played during the week.

3rd – 6th Grade ( age 8-11)

Baseball 101

Baseball is offered in the Spring/Summer/Fall Seasons, though there are registration deadlines for each season. The Y offers early-bird discounts for each season. 

Uniform:

  • Rookie Players will receive a reversible jersey and hat on the first day of practice.
  • Rookie Plus players will receive a Jersey top, hat and socks on the first day of practice.
  • Plus players will receive a Jersey top, hat and socks on the first day of practice.
  • Type of shoes allowed: plastic cleats or tennis shoes.

Equipment:

  • The YMCA provides bats, balls and helmets.
  • Players must provide their own baseball glove.
  • All Rookie leagues will practice 1 day a week (specified at time of registration) for 25-30 minute practice, followed by a 25-30 minute game.
  • All Rookie Plus divisions will practice 1 hour per week and a game on Saturday. This league will have 6 games. *Some games may be made up on during the week, if necessary.
  • All Plus divisions will practice 1 hour per week and a game on Saturday. This league will have 6 games and a guaranteed 1 game tournament. Tournaments and make up games could be played during the week.

Emails with team assignments will be emailed out 2 weeks before the season starts. This email will have the team your child is on, the practice day and time, and location of the practice.
