Strong Kids Campaign Events
100% of the dollars raised at our special events go to the Strong Kids Campaign to provide scholarships for Y programs so that all can participate regardless of their inability to pay. These programs include Y Afterschool, Preschool at the Y, Military Support Camps, Youth Sports, Swim Safe, and more!
Your contribution to these events is more than monetary. It means:
- Another parent will know their child has somewhere safe to go when the school bell rings.
- Another teen will learn leadership skills.
- Another child will learn how to keep themselves safe around water.
- Another child will experience what it feels like to be a part of a team.
- And, our communities will be stronger and healthier together.
Break ‘Em Brazos Valley Clay Shoot

Location: Tonkaway Ranch, College Station
Over the past two years, the YMCA of Central Texas has collaborated with local volunteers to assess the need for YMCA services in the Brazos Valley area. Numerous community discussions and third-party market research have identified service gaps that YMCA programming may address. Among these needs are a lack of adequate afterschool childcare services (currently, at least 400 children are on the Brazos Valley Community waitlist), youth sports programming, active older adult programming, and a newly renovated exercise and community facility. The YMCA of Central Texas is committed to bringing YMCA services back to the Brazos Valley. To achieve this, a group of community leaders and YMCA CTX staff have worked together to fundraise the necessary costs to launch a storefront and programs. One hundred percent of the funds raised from the Break ‘Em Brazos Valley Clay Shoot will go directly to the efforts to bring the YMCA back to the Brazos Valley!
