Youth Soccer

With an emphasis on fair play and safety first, the YMCA youth soccer programs are progressive with age appropriate rules to help teach the game and keep it fun! Soccer is the sport that teaches important core values, while also emphasizing exercise and building endurance. All four youth soccer leagues seasons present opportunities for character growth and health improvements in children.

Leagues are structured to allow for both practice and game experiences in the same day. Participants will learn new skills for 25-30-minutes and put those skills to the test during a short, 30-minute game after the practice.

Rookie Plus (Outdoor)

Rookie Plus youth soccer league focuses on skill development, fun and a sense of team in a semi-competitive environment, with volunteer coaches. Scores and standings will be kept. Our rules have been adjusted to ensure better parity and limit the ability of a team to “run up the score”. All rookie-plus divisions will practice 1-hour per week and have a game on Saturday. If needed, make-up games or tournament games may be played on Fridays.
