Teens hanging out together

Keep your teens active

At the YMCA of Central Texas, we are dedicated to promoting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility within our community. Our programs are aimed to help teens reach their fullest potential, maintain active lifestyles, and get involved while building connections and making memories.

Become a Red Cross certified babysitter by learning the decision-making skills, basic first aid and safety, ideas for age appropriate play and basic care skills for babysitting. Our two-part course takes teens (8-13yrs) through all elements of becoming a well-trained babysitter in order to handle situations that may arise when taking care of children.

Teens n’ Training (TNT) is a fitness program that teaches participants (9-13yrs) the proper use of fitness equipment, proper etiquette, form, and nutrition. Participants learn the roles and importance of health, well-being, and fitness as life skills.

The Y offers swim classes for teenagers to begin with water safety and continue on to learn and refine skills in the four competitive swimming strokes. Swim team options are also available for those who are beyond progressive swim classes yet too young for adult classes.
