
Active Older Adults
Our Active Older Adults Classes concentrate on improving strength and flexibility so daily living activities become easier. It’s a fun way for people ages 55+ to stay in shape and increase social interaction. Our goal is to engage members and help keep them motivated to improve their own health and well-being. Classes are welcome to both SilverSneakers and YMCA Members. Check out your Y location’s group fitness schedule and come try a class today!!
This classic class focuses on strengthening muscles and increasing range of movement for daily life activities. Participants can use hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball.Offered at CHASCO, Hutto & Waco
This yoga class uses a chair so you can perform a variety of seated and standing poses designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of motion. Offered at CHASCO, Hutto, Twin Lakes & Waco
This class offers standing low-impact moves that alternate with standing upper-body strength. The class can be adapted for all fitness levels. Offered at Twin Lakes & Waco
a beginner/intermediate class that uses modified tai chi movements in a slow, flowing sequence to improve balance. Offered at CHASCO, Hutto & Waco

A higher intensity dance workout class that improved cardio endurance and burns calories. Move is all about breaking a sweat and having fun. The class focuses on cardio endurance by stating with simple dance moves then building moves into more complex sequences.Offered at Waco
This class is designed to introduce easy-to-follow Zumba choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion, and coordination. Come ready to sweat and leave feeling empowered and strong. Offered at CHASCO, Hutto & Twin Lakes
This class is designed for individuals looking for a safe, effective no/low impact exercise option. The one-hour classes offer exercises to improve cardiovascular function, balance, flexibility and strength with the purpose of making activities of daily living easier. This class can be done standing or seated. This class meets three times per week and registration is required.Offered at Waco
Stay strong with this workout designed for active older adults of all fitness levels. This class includes a variety of exercises geared at increasing muscular endurance, range of motion, and agility required for activities of daily living. Offered at Twin Lakes
Line dance is a fun choreographed dance with a repeated sequence of steps in which a group of people dance in one or more lines or rows, all facing either each other or in the same direction, and executing the steps at the same timeOffered at Twin Lakes
