Dance and Gymnastics

Introduce your child to the world of movement through a blend of ballet, creative movement, and gymnastics. These starter class cultivates flexibility, balance, and grace. Our dance and gymnastics classes are suited for all skill levels, prioritize body movement and muscle growth. Register for our 6-week courses online or in-person at the branch, while year-round classes require in-branch registration. Join the Y for a rhythmic journey!

CHASCO Dance & Gymnastics

We offer 6-week programs as well as year-round programs for both Dance and Gymnastics. Dance programs offered are Creative Movement, Princess Class, Intro to Ballet/Tap, Ballet/Tap Beginner, Ballet/Jazz Beginner, Ballet Intermediate, and Hip Hop Intermediate. Gymnastics Programs offered are Tiny Tots, Flippin’ For Fun, Developmental, 6-Week Intro, Beginner 1, Beginner 2, Intermediate, and Advanced. For more details please see program selections below.

Hutto Dance & Gymnastics

Twin Lakes Dance & Gymnastics

We offer 6-week programs as well as year-round programs for both Dance and Gymnastics. Dance programs offered are Dance and Discovery, Lil Hip Hop, Intro to Dance 1, Intro to Dance 2,  Intro to Ballet/Tap, Ballet/Tap Beginner, Jazz/Tap Beginner, Jazz/Tap Intermediate, Ballet Beginner, Hip Hop Beginner, Jazz Beginner, Ballet Intermediate, Hip Hop Intermediate, and Drill Team Prep. Gymnastics Programs offered are Tiny Tots, Flippin’ For Fun, Developmental, Beginner/Intermediate Tumbling, Superhero Training, Beginner 1, Beginner 2, and Intermediate. YMCA of the Highland Lakes Gymnastics

We offer 6-week programs as well as year-round programs for Gymnastics. Gymnastics Programs offered are Developmental, Beginner 1, Boys only Beginner. For more details please see program selections below.

Dance 101

Must be worn at all times. – Tap/Ballet: Leotard (attached skirt is optional); ballet tights; leather ballet shoes and tap shoes. (no socks allowed) – Ballet: Leotard (attached skirt is optional); ballet tights; leather ballet shoes. (no socks allowed) – Hip Hop: T-shirt, leggings and sneakers. – Ballet/Jazz: leotard with a skirt or shorts, ballet shoes, and jazz shoes. Everyone’s hair must be pulled back. This is for the safety of the participant.  
 
The year-round program is a bank drafted program, that requires a 15 day notice to cancel this programs. We also offer our session programs that you pay each session you attend. 
 
There are no refunds for missed classes. Your child/children have a place reserved for them in their specified class. If classes are missed they will not be deducted from tuition or refunded. NO refunds for missed classes or holiday closings. Our classes are based on a yearly calendar, holidays & months with extra weeks are included in the calendar. 
 
All participants will be called into class by their instructor. They will announce the start of class and welcome participants to come in and find their place. No one is allowed in the dance room during class without approval from a YMCA dance instructor. 
 
We ask that parents stay at the Y during their child’s class.  

Gymnastics 101
 

Athletic wear or a leotard, we ask that it is the biker styled leo or shorts are worn over top. No two-piece leo’s allowed. We ask that you have your child’s hair pulled can and out of their face. If it can’t fit in a ponytail then it will need to be half up/ half down. 
 
You do not have to stay in the Gymnastics studio, but you do have to stay within the facility for the duration of the class.  
 
No, all our classes are set at ratio so there is no room for a makeup class. Also, all our class sessions are set to where we avoid holidays so there is no chance a make-up class will be needed for holidays.  
 
It depends on their age, 18 months- 5 years old should look at our preschool options. Ages 5 and older can either come and test or enroll them in our Intro to Gymnastics Class. 
 
If you are unsure of what class or level your child should be in, you can bring them into our gymnastics studio to have them test to see what level they will be placed in.
